Child Car Seats 3Rd Gen 1983 Celica Gt

Hi All, I'm new to the forum. We're about to purchase a uesd 1983 Celica GT that I've fallen in love with, but my only concern is that we're expecting our first baby in September and I'm wondering how "livable" the backseat is for those with children? A two door and a small back seat don't seem like the best idea with parenthood impending, but the car is wonderful.

Are there any of you with a 3rd gen that have used a car seat? If so, which car seats can you suggest and also, how did you do it. Did you ride in the back with your little one? Was it worth the effort?

Your help is appreciated. I've got to make a decision in the next 24 hours.
