Hello to every memeber of TOC :D

I am Lee from Sheffield, new to the site but been into Jap cars for many many years. I use to own bluebirds b4 I switched my interest to the Carina E.

I own a 1992 K reg Carina E Auto Saloon in blue, GLI model. It has been a great car, had some work done on it in the last year or so but nothing too bad, brakes, exhaust etc.

I stupidly sold my car 3 months ago when i lost my job :crybaby: but then go tit back last month :yahoo: when i got back into work, how lucky was that! B)

I have to say its the best car I have ever owned, and i have had over 13 cars in 3 years

Reliable, comfortable, got power, easy to drive, relaxing and enjoyable.

So, all being well its a car im gonna keep for a while yet till I buy a later model, maybe

I am hoping to meet new ppl on here, and maybe get to a few shows and enjoy myself? My car has battle scars body work can do with a good clean up but no rust at all just scrapes, scratches and scuffs.

Thank you for reading this :)

Great the way things worked out for you and if you fancy a meet check out the JAE post in general, not many down to go yet but things should pick up ;)

Hi thanx for the welcome :D

I will defo be looking at going to JAE I tried to get to it when I had the bluey but wasnt able to :(

I take it that on the Forum you get the regualr users who post daily and you get to know them?

Also, I been looking round the site, while trying to while watching football :P and am i right in guessing that there is a paid members section?

No problem.

There are some regular members, myself included. The Corolla club seems to be the busiest along with general discussions.

Yes there is a paid members section which I am also a member of. I paid £15 for the TOC Supporter Plus tarrif and that increases my PM storage and gives access to the supporters section. That section is 99% unmoderated. You have you swear filter removed so you can say what you like (in that section only. You cannot however bash mods or post porn but read the T&C's and you'll see. ;)

I don't personally know anything about Carinas so I wont be able to help you specifically with that but I will try! I try to help accross the forum. :)

haha thats cool i wouldnt mind becoming a paid member, i guess that way you meet the regulars and get to know people better.

I dont know much about the carina myself either, i usually take it to a garage if anything sounds or feels wrong but no doubt any advice is good advice biggrin.gif

Nice to meet u all so far, all being well see u round the forum and at some meets.

How often are there club meets compared to members meets? looking round there seems to be only a handful from the north wacko.gif

Good man, it's always good to have one more person who is prepared to stick around and provide input to the forums.

We are quite sparce for meets but there are some lined up that I have personally booked up. Japfest 2010, JAE 2010 and you can rally a few people to meet locally to you.

We also have a Europe trip to Germany for a spot of racing. ;)

Yup thats the place. :D

Just post up the date and place of a meet in the meets section.

Do it in advance so that you can get as many attendees as possible. ;)

:(

It's not too bad though because I have all the time in the world to slowly do it up. :D

So far I have spent £3.5K on it and still she doesn't move, but I reckon that she will be a beast!

haha big spender.

The exterior will be pretty well OEM. Only alterations are clear headlamps with smoked reflector backing, smoked park lights, clear side-repeaters and clear indicators. I also have tinted the indicators on my tail-lights. They are all very subtle mods but they will set it off perfectly. :)

NFC, please, don't remind me, I am also just within the bracket of when the driving age changes. Now I have to be 18! :ffs:

lol oh dear! that sucks big time, im glad i passed my text 7 years ago tongue.gif

It'll be one problem after another for me, first the test, then insurance... not going to be good.

I'm thinking of getting myself a Lupo for my runaround. I'll have to see what is the cheapest to insure.

yeah the insurance can kill ya on ur first car. I had a 1.2 nova huh.gif but i hated it so i went right to a bigger car right away, the nissan bluebird 2.0 litre with over drive, i was paying £125 a month!!!! but i like big cars and to me it was worth paying for the extra space and comfort.

Fair enough.

I has £500 in my pocket when I was 14 and found the GTi on Auto-Trader. I had no idea what it was or what an awesome engine it had, but as soon as I saw it I loved it and bought it for £495. The last £5 went to paying for fuel!

I have been slowly building her up since. My signiture gives you some idea of what I have for her.... :)

My worst quote was £17 000 for a fully comp policy, and best was £7500 for 3rd party. Not good at all. :lol2:

hahah £5 for fuel, ive done that b4, baught a car with almost all the cash i had and the extra £5-10 for fuel to get home, then go hungry for a week laugh.gif

!Removed! hell that insurance is high!!! ur best doing pass plus course, then getting a small run abt for 2 years and then when u got some NCD shud be ok, but it wont go down that much till after ur 25.

Can u get put on ur dads insurance? sometimes its cheaper if you pay him the difference?
