Brake System Warning Light

Ok set off this morning to go for a spin, noticed that after about 4 miles of driving the brake system warning light came on then went off, thought nothing of it at the time then about another 4 miles on it appeared again and went off i continued to drive.

Got to my destination about 50 miles further on no other problems, parked up then went back to my vehicle about an hour later to proceed home, on the way back home hit the motorway doing a steady 65/70 mph and the light came back on, i stopped and checked the brake fluid all was ok, all the way home roughly about 30ish mile the light remained on, sunday so could not call my garage but will do first thing in the morning, in the meantime can any of the members here give me an idea what this problem might be ?

The car was serviced last september and no apparent brake wear was noted then, looking through the owners handbook it mentioned the light may come on and stay on if and when the vacum is low (diesel powered car only) the car is still under warrantee so i am hoping whatever the problem is it may be still covered.

Any advise guys ?

Update : My wife took the car in today after the RAC called yesterday and told her the brake fluid res was low he topped it up and light went out, so as far as the RAC guy thought his job was done. However i was not happy due to its recent service history hence the wifes trip back to the dealers this morning.

The dealers found a missing circlip on the braking system and the car was leaking fluid on each depressed pedal movement, its now been fixed under the warrantee, can only suggest problem was due to the many potholes created this winter in my location.
