1.8 T3 Questions- Looking To Buy

Hi,

Looking to become the owner of a verso 1.8 t3 2004-2007(ish)and wondering on a few things before I buy.

Is the 1.8 petrol engine a cam belt or a cam chain? Id prefer a chain because it would be long term ownership.

Also wondering on the consumption. Truthfully for the 1.8 id like to hear how much it holds, and how many miles people get to the full tank. Motorway, town and mixed driving. Genuine experiences of what its costing to run.

Unsure on the cambelt / camchain, but on my 55 1.8 T-Spirit average about 38mag overall without trying to be at all economical.

Many thanks for the reply - was beginning to wonder if all the users on here had diesels!

55 reg is about my budget at the moment. Had a look at a sky blue one too and looks nice. T-spirit's seem quite rare and demand a higher premium.

38mpg sounds quite acceptable.

I find a true measure is filling the tank and zero'ing the trip meter then running until the tank goes in the red. Have you ever done that and if so how many miles did that give you?

In general it's about 340-380 miles a tank full, but then I will fuel with anything from the warning light on to about 60 miles range showing.

The warning light comes on at about 25-27 miles range,but then when fueled I've rarely put in more than 48litres in what is a 60 litre tank, so there's alot of latitude there.
