Which Oil To Use?

What oil should I use in the '2?

Just thinking it might need a top up.

I wouldnt top up the oil i would go for a full oil change and I use Castrol rs 10 60w but its nearly £30 for 4.5L but no expense spared on my 2

If its for a tubby you want 10W / 30 as specified by Toyata, give a flush out with engine flush and then 4ltrs of the above.

I'm not sure off the top of my head, I have mainly delt with turbos, if no one else replies b4 2mrw i'll look it up when I get to work.... saying that I think its 10W / 40 but I can't be certain... i'll double check 2mrw.

10W/40 sounds right to me. That's a pretty common grade on normally aspirated engines as far as I know.

Even so, if you could confirm it that'd be great.

I'll get it changed soon anyway, but it's handy that I don't have to go out and buy any!

10W 40 is idea for a Turbo. You don't want to go any lower than that really, since the oil will be too thin when cold and cause the engine to rattle on startup. Toyota themselves reccommended this viscosity of oil when I originally enquired. 40,000 miles later and regular oil changes - engine and turbo both in tip top condition :)
