Where Do I Find The Chassis Number Stamp On 1994 Hilux Surf Import

Recommended Posts

Hi, I am hoping someone can help me, please.

We have a 1994 Hilux Surf, which was imported from Japan to England in 2008. We have since moved to Spain and are in the process of getting it put on to Spanish Plates. However, whilst we can find the plate screwed to the framework detailing the chassis number etc. The Spanish Inspector has advised that he also needs to see where the chassis number is stamped directly into the framework itself. We have looked everywhere we can think of, but we have been unable to find it. Can anyone advise?

The inspector is telling us that despite it's age or where it originates from all Toyota's have the chassis number stamped directly into the framework, is this correct?

Any help would be very much appreciated.

It's behind the front drivers side wheel.

Andy, thanks so much for coming back to me. We'll have another look. Is it well hidden, as we couldn't find it first time looking?

Many Thanks

Turn the steering to the left (full lock) and look at the chassis behind the O/S front wheel, should be stamped in there from memory. You might have to wire brush the chassis leg if it is covered in crud ;)

Kingo
