Recall Letters And Vouchers

you probably saw my earlier post about the rubbish service I was getting in London.

despite asking three times whether they could do the recall work while the car was in we were told no, we had to wait for an authorisation letter. so despite the car being in for over a week (in London) we got it back with specific instructions to bring it back when we get the letter.

what arrives in the post today....?

20 pounds of M&S vouchers and an apology from Toyota GB but thanks for taking the car in for the recall work to the London centre....same one that told us the work hasn't been done.

Obviously complaining to Toyota GB now but can someone clarify (we still haven't got the recall letter) - this is a replacement of a part right and not just an inspection?

doesn't really give me much confidence that the recall is being taken seriously......

It is a modification as opposed to changing a part. They are adding something basically. All MMTs need to be modded unless you have had your car so recently that it was modded before it was sold to you but it would have to be a few months old, if that.

thanks for the advice. will follow this up with toyota because if they are just ticking boxes then sooner or later someone will end up injured.

Click on the RECALL LINK in my signature, you then go to the recall website, pop your Reg number in and it should tell you if it is inside the recall chassis range

NOT ALL cars in the chassis range will require the mod, the pedal needs to be inspected and if it is required MIGHT need the steel rod fitting
