Should These Switches Be Illuminated?

Hi,

Avensis TX3 Jan 07 (56 facelift model) D4D 2.0 Should the middle swithces in attached pic be illuminated when the lights are on? The outer switches are. The middle switches have been dark since I got the car. If they should be lit, how do you change the lamp(s) and what type of lamp do I need.

Thanks in advance.

Paul

No they are not lit. Madness i know, seeing as the next switch which is a "massive" 10mm away is lit, but I've managed to get over this slight design imperfection.

Hi Paul99

I have a 53 D4D and the switches light/ don't light up exactly as your diagram shows.

I think this is an oversight by Mr T's design team as flipping the mirrors out at night is fiddly in the dark without an illuminated switch. Minor grumble but why light some and not others? Just plain daft!

So how did you get over the 'slight design imperfection'?

Thanks

Of course there is a need for them to be lit as its not easy to find them in the dark!

Whilst it really isnt a big deal, its a minor design fault and a minor source or irritation.

Move your trackion control switch to the empty slot next to the unlit mirror adjustment switch. At least you will have some light then & as everyone else has pointed out your switch pack works exactly as shown in your photo.

Regards, Beagh.
