Tyres - Mixing Brands

Hi

Just put a deposit down (at last) on an 05 plate XT4. It needs 2 new tyres at the rear, and whilst both fronts are newish, they are of different brands and tread patterns. Being new to 4x4's what's the recommended positioning of tyres? Am I asking for trouble keeping unmatched tyres on the front, would they be better at the rear or is it a no no fullstop?

Also, as far as replacements go, I've heard good thing about General Grabber UHP's but can't seem to find them in 235/60R 16. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance everyone

There you go: Camskill

Edit: woops - none in stock.

Edit 2: 4x4 Tyres but more expensive.

You can have different tyres on front to the back....but don't mix up brands on the same axle... best to keep two of the same....

I had the General Grabber UHP tyres on....still have one as a spare now (I can say that as I have a spare tyre   )

Good brand and I had no problems with them....
