Hi From Scotland!

Hi all,

My name is Chris. I stay in Ayrshire, Scotland.

For the past eight years I have been driving a mix of VW and SEAT cars. My most recent car was a 2004 VW Passat TDI SE 130 and I fancied a bit of a change - always liked the look of Toyota's so I paid a visit to the local dealership yesterday morning and well, I pick up my 07 Auris TR 2.0 D-4D on Wednesday.

Have been doing a lot of reading up and surprised at the number of complaints regarding the car in general, so I hope I've not made a mistake. The test drive was excellent so I think overall I'll be happy with the car, and the change.

Have been an active user and moderator/admin of various VAG forums - so I'll likely be an active user here. :)

All the best,

Chris.

PS - Joined the LinkedIn group. :)

Can't wait to get it.

The salesman did try and sell me an Avensis for the same price. It was a top of the range model with the Sat Nav, Etc. I did prefer the Auris though - plus the Auris was a diesel which would help my 25K mileage.

Never did realise before how nice the Avensis was, I guess you never know until you have a look.

An Auris in Ayrshire?!

Things must be looking up! :P

Right enough, the Auris is small enough to pick up - hope you used the correct lifting technique!

Hi Chris, even more local here - I'm from South Ayrshire. Technically speaking, it's my wife that's the 'owner' with her '02 petrol RAV4 but she doesn't do forums :)

Sounds good, I'm down at a friends in Ayr tomorrow to detail the Auris actually - making the most of the Bank Holiday. If you happen to see a spotless Silver 07-Reg Auris it could be myself!

Unfortunately there isn't much unique about the car to make it stand out, other than a cuddly toy on the back window to highlight my daughters presence in the car!
