Automatic Wiper Does Not Work.

Chaps, unless I'm totally confused but I'm convinced we used to have automatic wipers on our iQ3. Now, when it rains the wipers only work when we switch them on. Have I totally lost my marbles? I've tried setting the stalk settings to various positions but nothing seems to set them to automatic. I'm not sure if there's a fault or if there's something we might have set that disables it without really knowing what we might have done.

Go to your dealer to have them check it?

Thanks. That's what I was thinking of doing. I just wanted a sanity check before I did so.

I'm sure you know that the 'Auto' position is one click down from the top. If it has been raining when the car has been parked the wipers will not always start up when the car is started - not if there is a film of water over the sensor. So to get them started I have to flick them to the 'Off' position then back to 'Auto'. Mine work fine then, adjusting the speed or degree of intermittency (?) of the wipers.

The iQ is more my wife's car so I only drive it now and again. I'll check the Auto setting later. Hopefully by then it will be raining again, not that we need the sunshine, eh?

Edit: I think it's ok now. According to the manual, the wiper stalk needs to be one position down from the top. Just my !Removed! luck that it chooses not to rain this afternoon.
