Hi all,

I got back to my Aygo lastnight to find that for some inexplicable reason my drivers side numberplate light had been broken into!

Sounds ridiculous I know and I can't understand why anyone would want to do this but the lens cover was on the ground and won't fit back on properly so was obviously forced off!

anyway the problem is that it rained all day yesterday and so my numberplate light no longer works... can anyone tell me how to fix this?! is it just a case of fitting a new bulb?!

Thanks in advance for any help!

What a stupid thing to do... honestly there really are some clowns roaming the streets. Why would someone want to break into the number plate light?! Must be quite frustrating for you. The only advice I'd be able to offer would be to go to a Toyota garage and see what they can do, otherwise I'm afraid I haven't got a clue! Hope someone else can come up with a fix or give some better advice than me! :D

Thanks mate I may just pop down to Mr. T when I can!

I know its not like they got anything from it, was just to cause damage and be a nuisance! Grrrrr :ffs:

The lens isn't supposed to come off of the housing, so I'm afraid a new light is the only option...

Are you sure nobody has reversed into you causing the number plate light damage?

I'm pretty sure it wasn't caused by someone reversing into me as there is no other damage done to the car at all... not even a scratch!

Thanks Jan will get down to my garage asap to get it done!

cheers

Doesn’t need to be scratched if someone has bumped it, hitting it could deform the bumper causing the light to pop out.

It doesn’t make sense that someone would remove the number plate light and leave it in the street.

99% certain it’s been tagged by another car :(

Yea maybe you're rite reece anyway its fine as I found some spare bulbs lying around and have managed to fix it by replacing both bulbs and using a squeeze of Locktite have got the lens back on! :)
