No - that's not right. I've never even seen any sort of setting for that. Both ours work OK when the cars are moving and have done on the four or five different phones we've used them with..

The only issue we have is that the radio doesn't always mute the radio for an incoming call if you set it to "auto answer".

My first move would be to do a hard-reset of both the head unit and also the tomtom unit.

To reset the head unit, you have to press in the tiny button at the front lower edge. I use a paper clip - but be careful that you do press the reset button and don't stick anything into the oval microphone hole nearby - as that will break the microphone...

Then go through the options on the tomtom screen menu and select the optoins to "reset factory settings".

There is a separate thick TNS400 manual that should be with the paperwork. If you are missing one, try to get a copy from the dealer, but if they won't give you one, you can get them download them for free off the internet as a PDF file.

Hi Thanks for the reply i will have another go.Also i have discovered that when i plug an ipod in via the usb port it will only play one song any ideas on that one?

I thought this tec stuff would be easy to use now all i am is confused :crybaby:

i have the manual for it but that seems to be inconclusive.

Think you will find that whoever used the car before has the saftey feature on.

Its still against the law to "use" your sat nav in theory whilst driving, so this option was put in there, but im not going to start that argument.

The satnav can "lock" itself whilst on the moove, just go into the settings and switch this off.

Just shows how crap the manuals are... I read both the TNS400 manual and the separate tomtom manual from cover to cover yesterday, to see if there was anything mentioned and there was no mention of this "feature"....

Ref the ipod query - I've not tried connecting ipod via usb. The radio certainly plays mp3s on a USB memory stick OK but can't say how an ipod operates via the usb port....

I can recommend the proper ipod adapter cable for the TNS400 - see my post from last year in this forum...

You can operate the ipod properly via the touch screen display.
