The revs when the engine is cold should idle at around 1200rpm and 800rpm when hot, if you had all the work done at a garage take it back or if it is still under warranty take it to Toyota. I personally find the 1200rpm far to high with a cold engine, especially when the snow and ice are around. My car does not drop the rpm to 800rpm until the temp gauge reaches normal, and that could be 4 miles of town driving in winter. Maybe one of the engine sensors on your car is faulty giving your cars computer the wrong information.

Regards Pete.

On another post I was complaining that mine idled at 1,800 rpm when very cold, and was told on a few replies that this was normal, it's only the first 2 minutes, mabe the diesel is slower. The speed is linked to the temperature sensor and slows down as it warms up, it could be a faulty temp sensor.

you seem to have an electricity cut ogg from SCV -- check with all contacts. you ve changes more than required -- so it must to work.

hi

i am inclined to conside the diesel got gelled or something remained onthe suction line. i dislike to conside an issue with pump delivery valve.

i am not sure but sometimes small mechanical part (very small) (from filter)might still be in the system and the same ocasionally remained in the pump and this leads to pump deliery pressure playing. what could be happened -- the rail pressure can not overpower the injector spring when solenoid has opened injection line due to not sufficient pump delivery pressure -- and this presure is also playing. Cheers/Igor
