Hit the 112mph limiter today on an empty A road.

The engine felt like it would keep pulling right the way to redline (and it had a bit of a way to go!), so you can imagine my frustration at hitting the limiter. 120 would've been nice, if only for a second or two.

Anybody know how much it costs to remove it?

You can use a rev speed meter to confuse the ECU in to thinking you doing a different speed, we sold a second hand on reciently for £50, try on e-bay there's usually something kicking around. I'll do some research as we are starting to stock things like FCD's and Bosst controllers, we may have something in the pipeline that will do the job....

Matt.

i'm assuming you have an import if you are limited to 112, have you changed you clock or just the dial face? I've been told that when you replace the clock you also remove the limiter but i dont know if it's true. might be worth looking into. :bookworm:

main ecu chip is the limiter isnt it. Most Jap import specialists can de-limit your car with a piggyback, i think its about £60 to get done.

Hey - I was down in Pompey the other day on one of my many pointless drives around.

The weather here in Guildford was crap, but it was nice down there!

Ah so you're in Guilford then? I was there on Thurs and Friday (training at Allianz Cornhill mannor). Nice place, i'm hoping to move to these areas soon (in the next three to four years) though i'll need a deep wallet :(

if u get an aftermarket chip like the unichip that delimits or you can buy little electronic gadgets that delimit your car.

if u have a rev1 you need a mechanical drive converter (gearbox and speedo cable), if u have a rev2 onwards it is an electronic speedo sensor and u dont need the mechanical converter.

a few companies do delimiters for between £50-90.

this company come highly recommended
