Washer Pump Gone?

I ran out of water on my windscreen washer about 3 days ago....or so I thought. Before work this morning I brimmed up the water and gave it a squirt. Nothing. Couldn't hear any motor whirring. So, lifted up the bonnet as I remembered that the hose near the windscreen peice has a tendancy to get trapped but that doesn't seem to be the problem either.

I know the washer tank is infront of the right wheel, where I assume the pump is aswell.

Does it sound like the pumps died. Neither front or rear washers work. Anyone know where I can source a pump?

If you can't hear the pump running then it may be the pump, but there are other things associated with it that may also have failed.

First I'd head for the fuse and check that hasn't blown. Then you need to locate the pump and get someone to operate it and see if you actually have power at the plug connector. I don't know, but I'm going to guess that it's a single pump system that supplies front and rear.

Thanks man. A couple of guys at work suggested I go check the fuse box aswell. That seemed to be okay and it ended up being the pump itself. Its a single unit supplying both front and rear. Toyota were asking £80 I think just for the unit. Went to a scrappy and found one off a X-reg Avensis for £10, looked identical par the part number. Fits perfectly, and jet seems just as powerful as the Celica one.
