Gunk On Oil Fille Cap

Noticed whiteish gunk on oil filler cap when removed it recently( 02 celica 190 80,000). No that this can be sign of water getting into engine,and major problem, howvever had mechanic check over it and says its just condensation. any1els had this problem or have any info on subject.

Lets hope your mechanic is right

Some engines are prone to `mayonnaise` and short journeys don`t help but changing the oil more frequently and a decent run out now and again to burn off the condensation can help.

if it's just a little bit i wouldn't worry about it, like your mechanic says it'll just be condensation. give it a good run and change the oil whilst it's warm should clear it
