firks Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 hi, i recently bought a 1995 levin bzg. i want to start modding it, so i thought id start by changing the filter. i want to know what filter suits the levin best, i cant decide between a mushroom and a cone filter. bearing in mind that i live in the UK, and would rather get a filter from a uk company, instead of ordering from an american, japanese, or australian one.thanks in advance.

bigshark Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 if you are going down this route you might want to consider using a cold-air feed, running from your bumper to your filter. a lot of levin owners actually swears by the standard air-box + aftermarket performance panel filter. as the cone / mushroom filter tend to suck too much hot air from the engine so you could lose power, hench cold-air feed. although, i got a apexi filter with a cold-air feed, came with the car when i bought it, couldnt really give you a comparison between the two personally as i have never had the panel filter!try fensport.co.uk, they now sell parts for the levin! or try eBay hope that helps
TRD-Chaser Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 Brother has a seriously modded 00 bzr and he put in a hks super filter (panel filter) he says its the best to use the air-box, Hks have the best breathing mods for the 20valves, he has a full hks super dragger exhaust system on her and the hks panel filter and she sounds sweet and runs 110% with great power, And a lovely rasp off her and she likes to backfire too
KPARRIS-JONES Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 I used a GREEN Twin-Cone filter and will be putting a heat-shield around it to prevent heat-soak. Love the colour! :D
miib14 Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 abit off but you have a cold air feed with velocity stacks....just a thought...
