Boot Open Light On Dashboard

I have a 2003 (53) Hatchback Avensis and over the years have been very happy with it using the large boot to its full capacity. This has now I think caused a problem. Over the last two years because the boot has been full and sometimes hard to push shut I think that it could have moved the catch a little. Now when the boot is empty the light flickers on the dash. When I am stationary it stays on till a little pressure is applied outside to close it. It seems fully closed but when I let go it wither flickers or stays on. This prevents me from using my alarm as if the light is out which is sometimes the case on occasions the alarm will be ok but then during the night when the light comes on then too does the alarm. Can this be fixed or is there another problem?

just get a new switch, as it may have been forced back

OR

try alittle bit of paper and double sided tape on the black push in switch needle.

OR

just remove the trim, and tape it together

OR

Buy a new one
