Can I Replace An Electric Window Regulator With A Manual One?

Hello all,

I have a Yaris 2002, 3 door hatchback. I want to convert my electric windows into manual, I already have the interior panel of a manual door so I can fit the crank, however one mechanic told me that the manual regulator would not fit on the electric door, does anyone know if this can or cannot be done? Is there any way to go around it?
