Gear Change Indicator

Recently bought a new Auris.

In the instrument panel there are two indicator lights to indicate that a gear change should be made- very irritating.

Is there any simple way to turn these off?

Any advice would be appreciated!

Not that I'm aware of. Strange you find them irritating :)

The only one I know is to remove the speedo, open it up and put some black tape in front of the two green lights on the inside. Sounds tricky but it isn't. If you're interested, I can post some sort of a DIY guide :)

Dismantling the spedo to block the light seems a bit more trouble than I had hoped for.

Clipping a cable or removing a fuse would be more agreable

Not sure if there are any short cuts but the garage can access this setting through their com diagnostic tool.

I love it!! Could never tell esp on motorway whether car is in 3rd or 5th! Now i knw as if light doesnt go on means its in 5th!

Im kinda used to it now too. Drove my sisters car last week and it felt awkward without it!
