I have read many a post on here about people who have changed bulbs on the aygo for many things such as interior lights and so on i want to change the standard orange glow to either blue or purple is it possiable to get such a colur

You can definitely changed the centre panel glow to blue, there are people on here that have done that I think. Not as sure if everything's been changed, but I think there might be some tips on the My107 blog - my107.blogspot.com - plenty of handy tips and tricks on here. Blue will be a bit harder to focus on in night-time driving (hence why VW changed their blue backlighting to white), but it certainly looks good. Not sure if you can change to purple though. Have a look at the blog anyway :)

If you want the instrument panel to be changed as well you need wonewone with good soldering skills as it involves taking out

the entire thing, opening it up, desoldering the display, then replacing 3 SMD-LEDs and putting everything back together again.

It's been mentioned on the forum before. I cn doe this for you, but I'm in The Netherlands, so that's logistically far from ideal...

Hey Jan. Why dont you do this in the Netherlands for people who have Aygos, C1 or 107 to get an extra income?

I allready do, but not for the income... I like helping people out,

so when I can I do for a slight compensation for parts and time.

I've done about 10 so far, someone elso on our Dutch forum is approaching 40...

You are a Star, it restores your faith in humanity with attitudes like this.

Well done thumbsup.gif

thank you for the advice i did look at the 107 page and it does show a step by step guide to changing the heater unit but not the dash i also happened to read that apart from blue or boring orange apperently any other colur is not strictly road legal as the lights at the back where the reg plate is was another idea

i'd like ours in blue (especially being a 'Blue') but would never have the skill to do it myself. Aside from the centre panel and the speedo (no rev counter!) what other bits are backlit?

What kind of cost would be involved to do these bits Jan?

BTW I reckon you need to get a 'spare' centre panel from a salvage place so you can do them on an exchange basis :) ;)

I don't do them on an exchange basis. That would be too expensive/difficult.

Your odometer readings are stored inside the cluster...

On top of that there's about 6 different versions; Petrol or Diesel, with

or without M-MT and with or without the extra VSC and TC systems.

So I doe the actual cluster from the car, for which both EJS (from the Ducth Forum) and

myself ask €50 all-in. But you have to show up at my doorstep, so that can be a problem ;-)

The only other thing thats lit on our cars is the scrollwheel for the headlight-level.

I do those too, as well as the blower-knob-LED (which was so some extent my idea).

Another thing I can do is illuminate the windowswitches...

sounds really smart - would have never considered how many versions there were! Oh well, next time i'm in the netherlands... That is unlesss i get adventurous myself lol

Just drop me a line and we'll work something out. I need about

2 hours from undoing the first screw to doing up the last one.
