When my Auris was in the dealership during the week they gave me an Aygo as a courtesy car.

Got to be honest, me and my friend had a great laugh about it. No glovebox door, no rev counter, no clock or temperature dial. Plus the back windows popped out rather than wind down. (5DR)

Though, what a fantastic car to drive. It handles like it's on rails compared to my Auris! My partner didn't think much or feel safe but I was amazed at how well it goes with the small engine.

The observation though, it's very alike the Peugeot 107 inside - do they share a dashboard?

My partners said the next time I've to push for an Auris as a courtesy car - but I hope they give me another Aygo. :D

The Aygo is basically the same car as the Peugeot 107 and Citroen C1! So yes, it shares the dashboard. That's part of the Aygo's character - the cheapness, simplicity - parts sharing reduces costs at the factory.

There is a clock, by the way! :P

And it's 4-star Euro NCAP, so tell your partner not to worry about being safe lol :P

Glad you had fun, it's amazing how many people are surprised by the car's agility after just one drive! :)

They share allmost the entire interior... If you put a bag over the steering wheel it's virtuaelly impossible to see in which of the three you're sitting!

The Aygo is more safer than most of the small cars on the road today. I used to drive a Peugeot 106, and it was designed 13 years ago. I found a link for a crash test. Its a Saxo but back then Citroen actually shared the same platform as the Peugeot 106, and some parts were also identical. Compare this with the C1 which is also an Aygo.

Note how the the whole body of the car collapses.

and a bigger car does not maean you`re any safe. Its a false sense of security. It depends on the cars design, manufacturer etc.

P.s You can actually buy a glove box door as an extra. Also you can add a rev counter if you wish.

all very true, but as you say - great fun in the bends etc!

As a contrast we've used ours this weekend for longer trips rather than take my Octavia vRS - the Aygo has been brilliant on the motorway too, obviously lacking pace, but it just means you need to consider changing gear more often!

Worked out the fuel consumption too - this is the 2nd tank the car has ever had since new and this weekend it has averaged 51mpg!

Loving it!

We've got an Octavia vRS too... brilliant fun, frighteningly quick, but the Aygo is just so much fun because it's more nippy :D

indeed, two quite different cars but i think they compliment each other well. Ours is a new petrol, really comfy place to sit and generally nice to drive (and as you say - fairly quick!). Strange that having owned loads of british and even yank built cars we now own two put together in Czechoslavakia!

o/t - you on brisky?

Thanks for the replies - it's a cracking little car. :)

o/t - I'm also on Brisky! ;)
