Hey, folks.

I was browsing the net for spoilers. I m not too keen on the Toyota TTE spoilers as they make my car or reminds me something like a shopping trolley.

Was wondering if the Lester spoiler fits the Aygo I ve included a pic. Its on a red C1. Also not sure if Jan can help as think the grey 107 is someone from the Netherlands. I read somewhere its a homemade spoiler.

The red one won't fit: the roofline of the Aygo is different from the 107/C1. The spoilers

that mount onto the hinges won't fit either, as on the Aygo they're closer together.

The little lip you see on the grey 107 is actually a rubber moulding

cut to size with the edges smoothed off, so yes, it IS cusom made...

Here's a picture of the profile of the thing:

But AFAIK REFZ (the owner of tha 107) is on here too, so maybe he can shed some light on this...

I'm no aerodynamicist but I fancy the grey rubber spoiler must produce a little bit more of a vortex of turbulent air behind the car to help keep the rear screen clean. Have you noticed this?

A lot of spoilers I see (large ones on small cars) look to be of no practical use whatsoever.

can't believe the roof line is different - you learn some thing new each day!

Not keen on the little lip tbh

Yes, I ve noticed this, and I believe investment in a good pair of mud guards at the back will help. I m not a fan of most of the Aygo spoilers. They just make the car look like a shopping trolley,a nd the spoiler is the handlebar end of the trolley.

Thanks, Jan. I new I could count on you. In fact I ve been doing some research. I think the spoiler is a universal spoiler like this one I found on eBay.

I agree Emma. I m not too keen on the trolley look. Its like its tacked on.

To Arbs, if you dont like it then thats your opinion. Everyone to their own. I like something smaller like the lip spoiler on the 107. Its not in your face, giver your car the shopping trolley look, or tacked on.

I ve measured the roof line of the rear of the Aygo. Its 31 inches from the rubber black gutter to the other. Means I ll have to source a lip spolier, and do the same and modify it.

To Jan. Do you know what material PUF is? Is it rubber? Plastic?

Agree with the shopping trolley look of the standard spoiler on the Aygo, which is perhaps why I did not bother fitting one when I got the car new.

If I had the time/Money, I would try and source the rear spoiler fitted on the Aygo Xtreme special edition (See pic) and get that fitted on my Black. However finding the time to source one from the Netherlands, buying it, painting it black and fitting it means I have yet to push ahead with this vision.

No! :crybaby: The pic you supplied is one of the "tacked" on shopping trolley look. Bah! :( lol

Actually this pic is of the nicer Toyota wing. The TMS/TTE spoiler REALLY looks

like a handlebar as it lacks the little "flaps" that extend to the sides of the car.

The latter is the only one I'd ever want on my Aygo too, but it's too expensive for my taste...

That one is REALLY ugly... But you have to remember that you

need the drag it produces to keep you from going too fast :D

Not only is it ugly. Its stupid looking. Spoilers tend to "go with the flow" of the contours of the car. You`re right Jan. This would cause more drag than anything else. Even worse I wonder what a strong cross wind would do. Some people have np idea how to fit a spolier. Shopping trolley? No it looks like a electricity pylon.

EPIC FAIL!

Agree Aygokid. Mud flaps are my next purchase. I was driving witht eh sun behind my windscreen, and remember going through road works where a water pipe had burst, and as I drove through the water, and could see the spray "vortex" at the back window. The sun helped show up where the spray was going.

Mudflaps are next defo

Agree with ya Aygokid. I might just go for the rear mud flaps. I think you`re right. The mud flaps must come with clamps to fit on the rear of the bumper. My Nissan Micra did,a nd so did my Peugeot 106. If you look at the fron there are actually two holes where the front flaps go. I m not going to treat it as priority at the moment because its summer. Been avoiding driving in the rain. lol
