Does anyone remember how to fix the rattling (clicking) noise around the airbag area?

Google did not provide answers for a model so old. The noise was away for several

months but now that it is getting warmer it came back. :( Thanks.

Does it only appear when turning the steering wheel, or also

when driving straight ahead?

It appears when the body flexes on uneven surfaces or when driving on rough roads. Seems like

it is the top of the dash since removing the glove box does not make the sound any louder.

Also tried to tighten two airbag screws and to search for any loose part through the glove

box opening but could not find any.

Clicking sound coming from the top of the dash?

Does it sound like its from the windshield, or

is it a more plastic squeek?

Could be from the trim surrounding the windshield

rubbing against the glass outside the car.

It is inside the car. Pressing hard on the front left corner of the airbag seems

to reduce the noise. I'm suspecting left side airbag bolts are the cause. Those

I didn't manage to tighten due to lack of space.

It was just my imagination that pressing the airbag helps. Seems that the noise

disappears after the windshield washer is used long enough or when it rains.

Seems that something gets lubricated for a while. I've once taken the cowl apart

but could not find anything suspicious. Any suggestions?

When you say "cowl", do you mean the plastic cover on the outside bottom of the windscreen?

If you do, try stripping it once again, leaving it off for a few days to see if it helped.

If not, it could well be the rubber (soft plastic) trim around the screen.
