Hi,

So after many suggestions of lowering the car, I am currently looking into it. I am not decided either way, and its probably a month or so away (till I have swatted up enough)

But admittedly iam struggling, there is so many differnet types, makes etc.

So, what should I be looking for, any manufacturers to avoid, likelly unforseen problems etc

Cheers in advance guys

How low is it safe to go on the existing shocks?

Go for the loweringsprings from TTE -35 mm than you can use your original shocksabsorbers.

Look at my homepage and than the second page there are some pics afther i lowered my G6-R .

the TTE Springs i bought cost me € 117 including P&P

dave,

my insurance changes in april and i'm moving to a company that will allow me to do any mods without increasing my premium.

as a result i'm gonna get all the bits i'm after.

with the suspension i'm either gonna save 600 quid and get coilovers or will get fensport to source me some 45-50mm springs as they shouldnt bugger the shocks

hope this helps

Cheers ed

I think Im going to find some springs offering a 30-40 drop, so as to keep the original shocks, have actually found some for just tipping £100, but not sure wether this is too cheap or not????.

Dont think i would be wise for me to go much lower anyhow

Belting news about the insurance

I had my G6R lowered 40 mm it sits low and looks really sporty. If you lower anymore than 40 mm thats when you have problems with the shocks. My springs were £100.

From the European manufacturers I would recommend Eibach/TTE or H&R.

Both high quality products.

The Eibach/TTE 's lower 30mms.

The H&R 's lower between 30-45mm depending on chassis model.

I myself wouldn't (haven't) go(ne) lower than 35-40mms on standard shocks. The lower you go, the faster they wear out. :hokus-pokus:

Hope that helps!

Details:

- H&R

- Eibach
