Hi Guys,

Friend of mine has got some problems with a key in ignition. Apparently he can not put in a key very easily. There is some kind of teeth which supposed inform system that key is in. This teeth is getting blocked sometimes but still possible to put in if force it. Is there any work around to fix this teeth or whole ignition must to be replaced?

Regards

Wojciech

Try graphite powder, coat the key and insert, work the key in the lock a few times with the powder on the key, it should make the mechanism as smooth as silk. Often the mechanism gets dust and bits in which clog the barrel, making it stick but the powder overcomes this and doesn't dry out like WD.

...dust and bits ...

Hi,

Before using graphite powder, try blowing the dust and bits out using a can of compressed air, available in electronics shops.

After that, use graphite powder.

Oh, and never put oil into a lock.
