Hi

I have a IQ2 Automatic.09. When I got it I decided against a Sat Nav system being installed but I am having problems using a normal Sat nav because of the deep set windscreen.

Does any one know if a permanent Sat nav can be installed after purchase

It can, so I was told. I asked about that when we were looking at an iQ last year. Leastways, the roaming sales assistant told me it was possible as a later upgrade. As it turned out, we bought the dealer's MD's iQ3 which had one installed. The troubling thing is the cost of the unit is disproportionate to what it's capable of doing. I mean, £1,000+ is hardly value for money, eh? Have you looked at using a vent-mount for a typical satnav unit, like a TomTom-!Removed!-Garmin? There are a number of manufacturers who make those mounts and some are certainly better quality than others. There's another company called Gilsson who make top-notch external amplified antennas that can be tucked into a corner of the windscreen. We're getting a new Polo in a couple of weeks. Having resaerched the satnav VW would fit I can see no reason to give another £900 for something I can get much better value and use for a third of the price or less.
