Noisey Wipers

Can anyone help me. I recently bought a Toyota Celica (2005). There are two windscreen wipers on the front of different sizes, the one on the driver's side being considerably the larger. If it is only raining lightly the large blade makes a bang when it flips over and changes direction. When it is raining heavily I do not get a bang but the blade does not flip over on to its opposite edge either and instead of dragging the blade in each direction it drags in one and then pushes in the other.

Has anyone come accross this problem? It makes the operation of Wiper Blades a noisey affair. The arms are secure and I have tried a new set of blades to no avail.
