Loss Of Power

I have a Yaris 4d4 tr, 58 plate.

Occasionally whilst accelerating the engine management light has come on, and I have suffered a loss of power, the engine then cuts out. The car restarts ok, emgine management light remains on and then clears itself after a short while.

Anyone any ideas what this is? Car has just under 30k miles and has done this several times now.

Could be many thikings, but as its 58 plate, surely its still under warranty - take it into the dealer to check the fault code on the ecu. it will be recorded even though the light goes out.
