Hi fellas and ladies,

I have to replace the valve seals in my MKII supra and was wondering which is the easiest and best way to do this. I have three ideas......help please.....what i can do to an engine on my own you could write on an A5 sheet as opposed to a postage stamp.........so i know a little. have changed the engine twice......but they were one for one swaps. pretty easy realy.

1. cam covers off, cam shafts out, lifters and followers out then attempt to replace seals.

2. Head off, valves out, replace seals and have head skimmed at same time

3. take to garage and tell them to get on with it........this may cost a lot.

any ideas would be greatley appreciated......

easy mate, whip the head off, take all the cams etc out, and then drop the head off at rob walker engineering in chiping norton. He will do it for u fairly cheaply. U have to heat the seats up before they come out, so u might be better off getting someone else to do it. But by doing the rest u keep the costs down, and u'll be able to handle the rest, right? :D

easy mate,

I'm always easy if i was any more laid back i would be horizontal..

Bit of a problem taking it to Chippy mate....check the location (I've moved)

found a garage just around the corner who is willing to do the job if i go round in my spare time and help..............ie head off, cams out etc and then he will do the seal replacement.....

which is more or less what you suggested........

Anyway hows the rebuild of the blue streak going mate and are we going to see her sometime in the near future.

keep the wheels turning pal
