Was The Dashboard Squeak A Recall Thing?

Just taken daughter's 5 door 4.2 out for a bit of a blast mainly to test for DMF problems (doesn't sound or feel like anything wrong - it goes like a dream) .... but the chirupping sparrow jammed down the dashboard could become a pain. Is there any chance of this being fixed by toyota. Car is 6 and a half years old so no chance of it being done as warranty.

I think you can cushion the cowl with self adhesive felt or rubber pads - am sure other 4.2 owners will confirm.
