89 Camry Steering Column Replace ?

Hi all.

My 1989 Camry was broken into, attemped to steal it at first. After the *****s couldn't get it going they tore it up.

The column lock is smashed up, and the ignition switch key hole is jammed with something.

It looks like replacing the whole column might be the only option, or at least the quickest option.

I have a Haynes manual for several years that's supposed to cover this car but it won't show steering column procedure.

I imagine it's like any other.. mechanically unbolt it, electrically unplug it... and reverse for installation.

Anyone have any other advice to offer ??
