not wanting to be ignorant but as its first nature to me.... why is this post under general discussions??? I kinda found it by chance... thought it mighta been in performance or another area, away from sick jokes, Corolla drivers, fire-fighters etc.

it was in the rolla section to be fair, but i know there are a few non corolla owners who'd like to keep up with progress and as not every one uses the 'latest posts' button i thought id stick it in generals so its easier to find.

that said i might move it back again.

mike, think im going with coilovers so ride hight not to crtical. also there are no springs fitted at the mo so i can work with the suspension at close to normal ride hight.

decided it was time to go out and do some more yesterday.

removed the LH wheelhouse assembly and made the wheel tub. just gotta weld it in now.

good news is that bar the body work and a few areas of corrosion that is all the necessary metal cut away now so its all new stuff going on.

glad as well as grinding dust gets everywhere.

might sound mad but could do with some cooler weather as working outside is a bit too hot :pepsi:

I know you are going for rear wheel drive but could you still do 4wheel drive with the engine in the back or is that just too much work? Basically having the diff at the front. That should be your final evolution when you have had enough of the rear wheel life haha

it could be done with the right gearbox etc but to be fair if i get bored after this it looks like a small block will be going in on an audi transaxle :P

Just thinking have you thought of upping the power? Its a bit late now as you are making up the car so the engine fits and would need a bit of money but the 5sfe route probably would have been a little easier for you. I know you would be seriously looking at masses of cement under the bonnet but that fella pat chinsue is it? running 843whp thru his, would love to see that in a rear wheel corolla, it would do back flips.

yeah power is going up when its done.

turbo is good for about 550-600bhp, bottom end is built for that as well, just need cams, exhaust manifold and fuel system to match.

What about head studs? Had a few reports of head lift happening when pushing past 500bhp, think someone mentioned arp L19 bolts cure this, think its L19 something along those lines. Which cams you going for?

272's should get the job done i hope, i know of a couple pushing 600 with no problems. you can get an 11mm head bolt kit which is what TTE used

You should do a stud conversion from the Head Bolts. They have a much higher tensile strength, ARP do them and they are what I am getting.

love the NA sound but nothing beats a turbo spooling to full chat.

yeah love that 272 sound. soon hopefully. forgot what the rolla sounds like, mind you with an exhaust thats only about a meter long is going to be a bit louder than before.

Haha did the other guy know what you were running? If he didn't i bet he got the shock of his life.

You going for HKS cams? Some other makes do the same duration but for less money like brian crower. Looking on eBay they are like 100 beans cheaper but i can't comment for quality as i only have HKS 264's and to be honest i thought my standard ones looked better haha.
