Cant help noticing. Aygo door mirrors are barely distinguishable from late model Rover 75 and Rover 45 mirrors.

As the Rover mirrors are available as electric, can the Electric Rover mirrors be fitted to the Aygo?

Just a thought. Earlier mirrors differ but later mirrors (2004) really are almost identical.

Interesting observation, I'll give you that!

I'd like to see the INSIDES and back of that mirror: THOSE are the interesting bits...

I dont think you could fit the insides of this Rover mirror in an Aygo mirror casing, but might be possible to mount the mirror on the Aygo base?

Rover mirror is ever so slightly more pointed. + The painted top cover extends slightly lower.

To be able to judge that you'd need such a mirror and take it off of the base plate/triangle.

Fitting the entire assy on an Aygo looks near to impossible to me, as the Aygo's

baseplates aren't triangular. They also seem to be a lot bigger than the Rover mirror...

Maybe we'll find out in the distant future: heaterd mirrors and possibly

electric adjustment is one of my many projects I'm contemplating.

But the programmable rear intermittent wiper is top priority now.

Yes the base plate differs you would need to use the original base plate.

There are 2 Rover mirrors which are similar to Aygo / C1.

The earlier mirror is similar in shape but has a recess in the base plate which the mirror fits into. This is not suitable as base of mirror shaped to fit to base plate and even if usable would look untidy.

The later one has a flat base plate. The Aygo base plate is flat also.

The manual mirrors are likely non to be interchangable as the position of the adjuster mechanism is completely different on the base plate,

directly behind mirror on Rover and above on the Aygo. Theres no reason to change manual to manual anyway.

The late model electric operation and heater mirror (think 2000 onward) should have a wire passing down through the base of the mirror assembly

where it connects to the base plate.

It looks likely to be possible to use this electric mirror.

Of course you would need to remove the manual adjuster in aygo base plate and plug the hole -

Its round you should be able to find some plastic trim to plug it with or even fit a tweeter into the base plate to fill the viod where the manual adjuster was.

Obviously: Only reason to concider any of this is if you want electric heated mirrors.

Electric mirror adjuster switches:- theres a multitude to chooose from , See whats available at scrapyard. Peugoet ones look quite useful. Just do some internet searches on "Peugeot mirror adjuster switch"

The Rover mirror again:

I will try and park beside a Rover to compare more acurately. Therss one on the works car park , I walked over and examined the mirror and back to my Aygo. The diference really is ever so slight.
