Rav 4 Cambelt

i have a 1997 rav 4 2.0 litre petrol, can anybody tell me if the cambelt goes is it non invasive?

Yes it isn't

The cam belt is considered "interferance".

simply put, if things get that far then its cheaper to find a 2nd hand engine. If the engine is working ok and no blue smoke etc, then get the belt changed if you're not sure. If the engine is smoking/rattling, easiest may be to source a 2nd hand 3sfe - theres loads of them available.

the engine has done 104k and is sweet, last done 2002 at 47k by previous owner..

will get done asap..

good - get it done and get the rest serviced by a Jap specialist who knows what they are doing. Engine oil. filter, transmission etc. You may be needing suspension bushes done now as well.

I don't know. If you look at the timing belt info in the pinned section (service data sheets) you will see that both of our RAVs with timing belts have interference engines.
