Anyone else had problems with speaker distortion? I've had my Auris back to the garage 4 times, it only occurs when there is someone talking and only the front passenger side but they have changed both door Speakers and the whole radio/cd unit yet it is still the same , any help would be most welcome.

Well fault finding would go something like this,

using the balance and front/rear fader be certain 100% that it is only one "feed" or door that appears faulty. Can you determine if all the Speakers in the door are distorted or just one of them, such as the bass unit or the hf (high frequency) unit.

Is the distortion present when using another source e.g CD, radio, aux in, USB in.

Is the distortion affected by volume... or is it present at any level. Does altering the bass or treble have any effect.

Does it have to be on a while before it happens or does it do it from cold.

I don't know whether the audio unit is a "one piece" item or whether there is a separate power amplifier somewhere and all you see is the "head unit". That's something only the dealer would know unless you pulled it all apart.

Describing something like distortion is impossible, there's so many different types, but is it bad ? very noticeable, or more subtle.

If your stereo has ASL turn it off, if i leave this turned on it just distorts the low frequencies.
