Noise In Dash Panel

I have had my Avensis VVTI 1.8 for 2 months now, I love it.

I notice every time I switch on the ignition and after I turn it off, there is a kind of hiss from behind the instruments, this does not seem to be a problem but I am curious as what it is, assuming every one elses Avensis does the same.

I noticed that too, that is, a couple of seconds after turning the ignition off.

I think it's the ventilation or air mixer closing the inlet valves to the interior.

Not sure though, but nothing worrying...

is the hiss more noticable when the fuel tank is full?

if so its the fuel gauge indicator going up and down when you turn the ignition on or off....... my theory
