Hi, can anyone tell me if the avensis 2.0 d4d t3x 2004 on 54 plate is fitted with a cambelt or chain, i pick the car up on 17/5/10 and the car has done 71,000 miles with service history but nothing to say if cambelt has been done

I have a 2005 D4D and it has a cam belt which should be changed at 60000 miles. It is advisable to change the water pump at the same time. Hope this helps

Just joined and reading a few threads...............

Do you mean change the water pump when you change the cambelt, or replace an auxillary belt that drives the water pump?

I do not have the work shop manual, yet!
