My gf has had the car 2 months now but never brim filled it and driven to empty as she worries she'll run out going to work, ive said she has plenty to get to work and back (total 14miles) but just curious as to how many miles the car would do on a full tank with mixed driving (town and m,way)and on reserve. does the last solid bar flash when its on res?

cheers

pete

You have seven litres left when the light drops to one bar and starts flashing. That's plenty for at least 40 miles after that....

You don't say if yours is a Mk1 or Mk2. The Mk1 had a slightly larger tank (45 litres vs 42 litres for the Mk2)

Although we have got 360 miles out of our 2008 1.3, there are times when we've only just got a bit over 300 miles, so that's my "safe" range from a full tank.

If the light starts flashing, I know that I can reach at least 300 miles safely - however there are times when my light doesn't even start flashing until after that and I still have 7 litres left.

I usually get about 290 miles from a tankfull but i've had over 300 a few times.

Recently i've been experimenting by putting £10 worth in and trying to get 100 miles. It does it, just!

I've got a '05 T-Sport and I'm disappointed if I get under 350 to a tank. I have had 380 as the highest so far.
