Battery Drain

Hi, I'm a new member and I have a 08 Yaris Hatchback.

I have been having problems with my Battery discharging while the car is off. All my doors are closed and all interior lights are off.

My alternator is charging and my Battery is fine. But some how I still have too much parasitic load, has anyone run into this problem?

Thank you.

Welcome and sorry to hear of your troubles.

I see that you're in California so your US-built Yaris will be slightly different from the European build that most people here will have, but we'll try and help.

I have two 08 Yarii but haven't experienced any problems like you are suggesting.

The only thing I can suggest is that on one of our's the trunk lid was badly adjusted and had to be really slammed to close properly. If you weren't careful, it only caught on its first latch and that meant the trunk light stayed on. Probably not your issue, but worth taking the rear shelf out to check that the trunk light goes out when you shut it...

Does it have an aftermarket alarm system on it? That could drain the Battery if it starts to misbehave.
