Dear All,

New to the forum, so a big Hello  to all.

I am about to buy a Toyota Verso T Spirit 54Reg at Jemca Toyota, in Sidcup London.

The MPV has done 38,500 miles and is in fairly decent condition for its age.

I am bying it for £8995 with £995 as a part exchange for my passat. (so £7995)

I will be picking it up next Thursday.

Being new to Toyota brand, I am getting such mixed reactions and comments that seems to sway from side to side.

1) IS there any particular area of the car that I should be paying attention to.

2) What are the usual points that I should be checking in the Corolla Verso (54 Reg) models.

Any help will be highly appreciated and helpful before my purchase.

Keep up the good work.

Cheers,

Ray.

Sounds like its the luck of the draw Ray, a couple here have had bad examples by the sound of it but the vast majority have Toyotas usual reliability.

It might be worth trying squeezing extra warranty out of the dealer if you haven`t already.

The commonest problem I`ve heard about is the `auto` gearbox.

As dervedave has said avoid the MMT at all costs !!

You will get some moans about Toyota but its a forum and most people post when they want to complain about something !! I myself have owned Toyota`s for many years and have always been happy with them they have proved very reliable !! my dealer is very good and looks after me very well

Some dealers offer a discount on service costs if the car is over 3 years
