Hello,

Has anyway had the opportunity to change a front wing yet? Just had my replacement sprayed up, so scratching my head trying to work out how to get to the mounting bolts etc.

Oh dear......

Looks like a big job.

To get to the bolts, it looks like the front bumper has to come off first.

HERE.

Then possibly the light unit.

That should be straightforward.

Then you can get to the bolts thet hold the wing on.

Looks like about 5.

You can see them

HERE.

It's in Forrin. Click on "EBPONA"

Then "BODY" then "AYGO" then "Hood & Front Fender".

Something like this......

EDIT:- Just had a look at the diagram.

The bolts are all in cunning places. Looks like the bumper WILL have to come off just for the front bolt. I think there is another bolt hidden behind the black triangle just in front of the mirror.

Hope this helps.

Take some pictures! Good luck!

Ian.

"Looks like a big job"

GULP, still the weather looks like playing ball this weekend. Let's hope the kids keep themselves to themselves as well. If I get the job done, I shall write up a report and post it here.

I managed to get the job done. Quite straightforward.

You will need a trip to Toyo dealer for new plastic clip thingies that hold the inner wheel arch cover on,subject to what gets broken during the dismantling.....I have ordered 3 of 1 type and 2 of another, £5.26 total. Not bad.

Anyway: in conjunction with the HERE (link) in the post above; There are 6 M6x15mm (10mm spanner)bolts holding the wing on:-

pull out clips of arch liner

remove the 1st 3 xhead bolts along, under the front edge of bumper. The liner should now lay on the wheel

cajole/unscrew the tiny plastic screw on the arch at the bumper/wing join

pull bumper out and rearward to release from clips along the join. Hold the bumper edge out far enough to remove the xhead headlight mount and the 10mm bolt(1)

undo the 10mm bolt(2) at the bottom of the wing

pull out the soundproof strip from inside the rear edge of wing and undo the 10mm bolt(3)

open the bonnet and remove the xhead headlight mount and the 10mm bolt(4)

protect the paint whilst prising the triangular cover beside the mirror off and remove the 10mm Bolt(5)

AH! the 'fun' part. The scuttle panel along the bottom of windscreen needs to be unclipped and pulled up and out as best as you can to get the spanner on the 10mm bolt(6) nestling under the windscreen edge!

jiggle/wiggle the wing out and off and disconnect the indicator. Job done.

NOTES: the 'hard' plastic moulding that the bumper clips onto can be attached to the new wing using a number plate nut/bolt if the lower clip of the 2 got broken.

Just do up the bolts finger tight and get the new panel aligned before tightening fully.
