hi guys,

i was pulled over and told one of my break lights weren't working,

so when i got home i tried to open up to swap the bulb...

i got a gen 1 seo, but didn't get the manual with it, so i am not too sure how to do it without breaking anything

took me half a day to figure out that those plastic thingys do semi unscrew off and then gotta be pulled off, i pull back the carpet trim and it was all bolted down....

do i have to remove all the bolts and open up the whole cluster?

any wires to watch out for?

If it's like the 2G you un-do the bolts & bulb clips/wires seperately. For just changing bulbs you shouldn't have to remove the whole cluster.

i think you have to on the 1st gen

there should be 2/3 bolts on the back & one on the side - ill take a look tonight.

Upload your pics to the gallery, right click the pic for properties then when entering a post click on IMG enter the properties as the URL it should look like (IMG)www.toyotaownersclub.com/gallery/etc,etc(IMG) and they should work from there  Unless you're like me and miss part of the address out and spend an hour wondering why it won't work :lol:

Hummm guys, I took off the bolts (3 of them) and checked for other hidden bolts or wires… but it seems like something is still holding the read light clusters back?

Do I just have to put more brute force into it? Or am I missing something?

I took off my front clusters recently and it was similar, bit of brute force and bit of jiggle here and there eventually took it off….

Don’t like driving with one broken break light….. not safe sigh

Anyone changed rear break lights on a 1st gen seo before can help?
