An Mot Charges World Beater?

jist thought some of you might like a laugh - I left a Renault Midlum 7.5 truck with our local Renault dealer for a week. Instructions were to check and fix the brakes, check for an MOT and MOT the truck. Also to replace the diesel cut-off solenoid as it kept sticking.

The bill came to £1750 - £50 more than I paid for the truck.

When I went to collect the truck, it wouldn't start so I had to wait 2 hours for an available mechanic. Turns out the return spring on the solenoid wisnae fitted .

Other bits and so on replaced and then they drove it 30 miles to the MOT VOSA station.... at a cost of £200 !     The MOT was about £60. They even charged me for the cost of a 1/8" drill.

I did of course ask them if I could get a job driving trucks to the MOT stations @ £100 an hour but it seems the position is filled by the managing director.

The brakes were never fixed - I used another family firm who found a sensor wire break.

Thankfully (aye right) they gave us a rebate - of £30. I am just so grateful that I would like to tell the world about the advantages of buying a 7.5 ton truck from anyone else but Renault. Lets see how the 515 JCB turns out when it gets delivered next week after waiting 6 weeks for it.

All mention of any living persons or true dealers is wholly unintentional.

That is the normal standard of a Renault dealer, my wife had a Laguna for a year and they had it more often than we did. mad.gif

interesting - maybe these guys will have it longer too when I run thru the showroom. The family that run the place are called a word rhyming with tish - true to their service!
