Hi Guys

Justbought my 3rd RAV 4 what a sucker for punishment I am. Love the car and nicked it for the price paid ( 2001 3 door 2.0 ) only thing letting it down are that the headlights are filthy inside, any ideas how to get them off the car and then what cleaning fluid should i use to get rid of this stuff. any ideas would be most grateful and thank you in advance. regards

dave

You need to be determined to take them off as the bumper is in the way of the lower screw.

You might just be able to get the screws by pulling the bumper back as in section 5 here;

You will have to work through the bulb aperture so try to see it is possible before you go pulling it apart. Be warned the the chrome reflector is VERY easy to scratch and the headlights will no be very good if you do so. I would try luke warm water and mild detergent and make a soft swab on the end of a coat hook but make sure that wire can't poke through. Afterwards, swill it out and let it dry fully before refiting it or you will have it steaming up.
