Iq2's Will Be Exempt From The London Congestion Charge

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I just read on Yahoo, The congestion charge will not be applied to cars below the 100g/km emissions level - so the IQ and the IQ2 will be exempt!!

This means no road tax AND no congestion charge - how is that for a win-win situation!

Let us hope that this goes ahead!

Attention:

iQ CO2 Emission

1,0 L engine = 99 g/km

1,3 L engine = 120 g/km

1,4 L engine = 104 g/km

Dammit, I was in London on Monday, wish it had been bought in from the start! Good news though

Acording to this information from the Green Car Site, the exemption from the Congestion Charge will only apply to cars registered after 1st January 2011 and meeting Euro 5 standard for air quality: http://www.greencarsite.co.uk/econews/volvo-congestion-charge-exempt.htm

Does anyone know if the IQ 1&2 meets the Euro 5 standard for air quality already? If so, we maybe should reply to the Mayor's consultation to say that this restriction is unfair on the early adopters of the IQ: https://www.tfl.gov.uk/tfl/roadusers/congestioncharging/consultation/default.aspx

All iQs are EURO 4 till now.

The new 2010 versions will be on "sail" from Japan and delivered from July on, maybe that they will be have the FIVE on the papers (yet no iQs in Germany have this upgrade!) :crybaby:

Isn't this a trifle misleading? I thought that the automatic version has higher C02 output? So this would only apply to manual versions?

Here an update: :!Removed!:

iQ CO2 Emission (g/km)

Engine = MANUAL * AUTO

1,0 L engine = 99 * 110

1,3 L engine = 113 * 120

1,4 L engine = 104 * not on the market
