can synchros be repaired ? Or is it a case of new/reconditioned gearbox ?

I was quoted 300-400 notes to drop the gearbox, strip it replace the synchros and refit the box..

Yes, I've been there in both the white one and the black one.

As far as the paint is concerned, 100 quid maybe, they're only tiny bits you could probably DIY
