Hi all

I wonder if anyone can help with an annoying problem?

On very small throttle openings on usally motorway runs my rav 4.2 vvti will judder/hesitate,if you press the throttle

it clears ok.It feels to me as if there is a fuel cut off for overrun that cuts off to early or cant make its mind up

This makes 40 or 50 limits a pain .Any ideas on this would be interesting. Thanks Graham

3 hours later and no replies - sorry!!

I'm not an expert on the vvti engine and could guess at a few things but am sure some of the 4.2 owners will have a better idea of fixes - good luck!

Hi

Very busy at the moment, but just read your post - had the same on my 55 rav - more noticeable with the aircon on and also cruise control highlites it if you go over the brow of a slight hill.

Look fo my posts about this... in the next few weeks will be contacting toyota direct as the local dealer is clueless and due to it effecting speed, might be a hazard..

dropping in again - is the vvti engine you have not the same as that fitted to some other Toyota cars? Like the Avensis, Celica?? Not sure, but it might be worth checking the forums for those cars - do a search and see...I'd do it for you but need to go and drive a 7 tonner truck for the charity just now - had the call
