Advice Needed On Buying Rav 4

I would like some advice on purchasing a second-hand Rav 4. I need £2500 from a trade-in on my current vehicle and I can put £5500 on top = £8000. What kind of model should I be expecting to get for my money? Ideally I'd prefer a diesel (D4D ?) I believe ? What should I look out for when looking at a Rav ? I'm situated in North Wiltshire so if anyone can offer any advice at all especially about local garages I would be very gratefull !

Hi and welcome to the club.

Can't help with garage information but there are several diesel RAVs for sale in your area [mostly Bristol]All4.2 models. There is a nice looking 03 VX with leather on 56K at Edwards of Corsham just in your price limit too.

Biggest issue with Diesel RAVs seems to be the dreaded and expensive DMF [Dual Mass Flywheel] - see pinned section at top of page. Petrol versions seem to be a bit thirsty but pretty much bomb proof.
